You Can't Do That on Television is a Canadian TV show that debuted in 1979. It included preteen and teen sketch comedians. each episode has a theme It launched the careers of numerous performers, including Alanis Morissette and Bill Prady, who later wrote and produced The Big Bang Theory, Gilmore Girls, and Dharma and Greg. Ottawa's CJOH-TV produced and aired the show. The show ran in reruns on Nickelodeon until1994, when it was replaced by All That. It was Nick's most popular show at the time, with the greatest ratings overall. It introduced the network's signature slime. The show is the topic of David Dillehunt's 2004 film You Can't Do That on Film.
