Michael Palin: Into Iraq
Michael Palin sets off on a monumental and eye-opening adventure through Iraq, one of the countries that tops the list of most dangerous and complicated places in the world. Michael's goal is to learn what daily life is like for the 40 million people who call Iraq home by traveling the length of the Tigris River, which is over 1,000 miles long, from its headwaters in eastern Turkey all the way to the Persian Gulf. Even though he hasn't been there, he's been interested in that region of the world ever since he was a kid. In fact, it's one of the very few places on Earth that he hasn't been to. Michael is interested in researching Iraq's history in addition to the challenges the country has in the present day. Iraq is sometimes referred to as the "cradle of civilisation."
