Takumi Fujiwara could be the son of who owns a tofu shop. At nighttime, Fujiwara gets in his souped-up AE86 Sprinter Trueno (AE86 Corolla GT-APEX) and races on the seldom-used Japanese mountain roads. One night, a club, the Akagi Red Suns team, challenges the Akina Speed Stars at which Fujiwara lives.
