Byung-su, a laid-back countryside detective, celebrates his 10th wedding anniversary by taking his family to the Philippines. In truth, his underlying purpose is to find his old friend Yong-bae, who deceived him a few years ago and fled. Byung-su arrives in Manila to discover Yong-bae imprisoned for murder and learns about the 'Yamashita's Gold' case. Byung-su becomes entangled in the case after being enticed by a share of the Gold that Yong-bae promises.
