Daniel Léger, an ex-heroin addict, gets entangled in a drug deal with the wrong people and for the wrong reasons. A deal turns sour and Daniel is sentenced to 100 years in prison in Thailand. A Globe and Mail journalist, Victor Malarek, is intrigued by the news of Daniel's conviction and resolves to pursue those responsible for falsely charging Daniel of a crime he didn't commit.
