Everything Is Copy
A tribute to his mother Nora Ephron, a Hollywood-raised daughter of screenwriters who went on to become an award-winning journalist, a piercingly hilarious essayist, a novelist/screenwriter/playwright/director, Jacob Bernstein's film is a delight. Ephron's words; the recollections of her sisters, colleagues, past spouses, and many friends; sequences from her movies; and, above all, her own unmistakable presence, bring her characters to life on film. Any of Ephron's brilliant yet caustically humorous moments (such as this one to a scolding talk show host) are worth watching "Julie Nixon has a special place in your heart, I'm sure. It is clear to see that "It's hard to think that she's been away from us for three years. An affectionately rendered but brutally honest portrayal of an earlier period in New York culture, Everything Is Copy (Ephron's mother's slogan) captures a vivid point in time when the city was livelier, bitchier and funnier.
