California Dreaming
California Dreaming examines the peculiar town of California Metropolis, the state's third-largest city by land area but having a population of only 14,000 people. It was envisioned in the 1950s as a new metropolis to rival Los Angeles, which is only two hours away, but it is now a little town within a much larger desert ghost town. The film follows numerous people, notably Jean-Paul LeBlanc, a Quebec-born blue-collar worker, and examines how the American Dream has altered over time, drawing comparisons between the American Dream of the 1960s, when the city was built, and the dreams of those living there today.
