Wild America
Wild America is a television series that focuses on the wild creatures and wild lands of North America. By the mid-1970s, Marty Stouffer had put a few full length documentaries together. At the timehe approached the recruiting managers in Public Broadcasting Service of a half-hour-long wildlife show ever to focus upon fauna and the flora of North America. PBS signed to broadcast Marty Stouffer's show Wild America in 1982. The show moved on to become one of the popular Led by PBS, renowned for its unflinching portrayal of nature, in addition to its extensive use of film processes like close-ups and slow motion. Stouffer earned $135,000 per show from PBS.
The production of the show conducted from 1982 to 1994. The series is no more on PBS. Re-runs still air in syndication on commercial tv through much of the USA. Back in 1997, a feature film entitled Wild America, which was based to the story of Marty Stouffer and his brothers, Mark and Marshall was released by Warner Brothers.
