Shipping Wars
Shipping Wars can be a reality television series on A&E that began airing on January 10, 2012. The show follows six carriers who have found that backpacks can be produced transporting items that carriers cannot or will not haul. The series also features the entire world's biggest online auction house for individual truckers, uShip. For Season 1, the included carriers are Jarrett Joyce, Roy Garber, Jennifer Brennan, Marc Springer, and Suzanne and Scott Bawcom. You Start with Season 2, the Bawcoms are substituted by the team of Christopher Hanna along with Robbie Welsh. Season 3 premiered on December 12, 2012. New shippers Johnny Chavez and the team of Chelsea Grant and Courtney Aguilera seem in Season 4.
In a typical episode, bids are placed by the carriers two jobs recorded on u-ship. Each client has the option of committing the job to the bidder, or to a bidder based on feedback from clients. Ties are broken in favor of the company with the average feedback rating. Winners try to send it complete by the customer's deadline and load their cargo. Proximity ratings from clients are displayed because the loads are delivered. With the expenses subtracted to ascertain the profit or loss, each carrier's net profit or loss can be tallied on-screen, at the close of the episode. Sometimes, a company can arrange to haul one or more heaps with the cash figured in to their tally, on exactly the same trip.
