The epic narrative of celebrated Pulitzer-prize winning author Alex Haley's ancestors portrayed from the acclaimed thirty months mini series Roots, was told from his 1976 bestseller Roots: The Saga of the American household. The docu-drama covers a span of history which begins in mid-1700s Gambia and concludes throughout post-Civil War United States, over 100 decades after.
