Police Squad!

Police Squad! Is a television comedy series first broadcast in 1982, created by Jim Abrahams, David Zucker and Jerry Zucker, and starring Leslie Nielsen. A spoof of police procedurals comprised Abrahams, Zucker and Zucker's wordplay, usual sight-gags and non sequiturs. While a parody of many shows and movies, it bore a particular similarity to the Lee Marvin cop show, M Squad and also the 1960s show Felony Squad. The show spawned the Naked Gun film collection Even though cancelled after just six episodes. TV Guide ranked it 7 on their 2013 set of 60 demonstrates were"Cancelled too quickly".
