Elizabeth I
Elizabeth I is really a two-part 2005 British historical drama tv miniseries directed by Tom Hooper, written by Nigel Williams, and starring Helen Mirren as Elizabeth I of England. The miniseries covers the previous 2-4 years of her reign. Part 1 focuses with the Earl of Leicester, played by Jeremy Irons. Part 2 targets her following romance with the Earl of Essex, played by Hugh Dancy.
The show was broadcast in just two segments on Channel 4 in the uk. It aired on HBO in the United States, CBC and TMN in Canada, ATV in Hong Kong, ABC in Australia, along with TVNZ Television One in Newzealand.
The show went on to acquire Golden Globe awards, Peabody, along with Emmy. Helen Mirren starred as Queen Elizabeth II in The Queen, together with which the award was dominated by her the very same year.
