Cosmos: A Personal Voyage
Astronomers Carl Sagan, Ann Druyan and Steven Soter wrote and narrated the thirteen-part television series Cosmos: A Personal Voyage, with Sagan as host. To name a few of the people involved in the project's production and direction, those include Adrian Malone as executive producer; David Kennard; Tom Weidlinger; Geoffrey Haines-Stiles; Gregory Andorfer; and others. From the genesis of life to our place in the universe, it covered a wide spectrum of topics. Public Broadcasting Service started broadcast the series in 1980 and it was the most popular public television series until the Civil War. A PBS series, "The Great American Library," was still the most popular in the world in 2009. Emmy and Peabody Award winners, it has been viewed by more than 500 million people around the world. The series was also accompanied by a book.
