Bagpuss
Peter Firmin and Oliver Postgate created the children's television program Bagpuss through their firm Smallfilms from 12 February 1974 until 7 May 1974. An "old, saggy, fabric cat, baggy and a touch loose at the seams" was how the title character was described. Even though there were only 13 episodes produced, the show is still fondly recalled and was routinely broadcast in the UK for thirteen years. In a BBC poll conducted in 1999, Bagpuss came out on top as the nation's favorite children's TV show.
