 
                                    The Watermelon Woman
    Cheryl, a young black lesbian, works in a video store during the day while trying to make a movie about a black actress from the 1930s who was known for playing the stereotypical "mammy" roles that were given to black actresses during that time. This was the first full-length movie that was directed by an openly gay black woman.
