Surge
SURGE is a feature film about the historic 2018 midterm elections, which saw a record number of first-time female candidates run, win, and upend politics. SURGE follows three candidates in Texas, Indiana, and Illinois, including Lauren Underwood, the youngest black woman ever elected to Congress, as they attempt to turn their red districts blue. Lauren is a registered nurse and public health expert who is now campaigning for COVID-19 relief as a freshman representative.
