Silmido

An assassination attempt on President Park Chung-hee by 31 North Korean commandos, sent into South Korean territory on January 31, 1968, was a resounding failure. On the island of Silmido, the South Korean military gathered a squad of 31 criminals to kill Kim Il-sung for a suicide mission in order to redeem their honor, however the mission was canceled, resulting in their disappointment. On a military insurrection in the 1970s, this film is adapted loosely.
