Red Trees
Award-winning filmmaker, Marina Willer (Cartas da Ma?e), creates an impressionistic visual essay as she traces her dad's family journey as a member of twelve Jewish households to survive the Nazi occupation of Prague during World War II. Photographed by Academy Award® nominee Ce?sar Charlone (City of God), the movie travels from Eastern Europe into the shade and light of South America and is told through the voice of Willer's daddy Alfred (as narrated by Tim Pigott-Smith,'' Quantum of Solace), who watched real nightmares, transportations and also suicides but lived to build a post-war life as an architect in Brazil. RED TREES is a look at a family group surrounded by warfare who finds peace across an ocean as the world struggles with the refugee catastrophe that is current.
