Heat of Desire

French insurrection and mayhem are imminent. Philippe Muphand, a right-wing politician, takes over when his girlfriend Caroline leaves, saying she'll marry the first fool she sees. The fool is Serge Laine, a professor and author of "Le voyage qui ne finit pas," who is buying train tickets to Barcelona for a second honeymoon and university lectures. Caroline seduces Serge, who abandons wife, family, work, and honesty for Caroline, Jack London, and murder.
